Health worker dies with fever, sore throat

A 27-year-old health worker has died with fever, cold, cough and throat pain in Kapasia upazila of Gazipur.

He died at around 1:00 on Tuesday night, according to Kapasia Upazila Coronavirus Prevention Committee.

Committee members said the man came home from Narayanganj 21 days ago. He worked in a private hospital there. He had been staying home for a few days with fever, cold, cough and sore throat. However, he did not go to hospital for treatment.

Kapasia upazila health and family welfare officer Abdus Salam said, “We have sent officials to collect samples of the deceased and his family members."

He said a team trained for burial has been sent there. The deceased will be buried following the guidelines of the World Health Organization, the official said.

Abdus Salam said that the administration may lock down the deceased's house.
