BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia has been staying home and receiving treatment for her health since her 6-month release on an executive order.

Sources in BNP said permission will be sought to take the ailing BNP chairperson abroad for medical treatment while applying for the extension of her release.

Khaleda’s family, physicians and her party think she should receive better treatment abroad.

During her release, there were conditions that Khaleda Zia will stay home and receive treatment there.

Earlier, Khaleda Zia received her eye treatment in the UK and knee treatment in USA.

About the extension of Khaleda Zia’s release, law minister Annisul Huq said the government will look into the matter if BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia applies.

Speaking to Prothom Alo, a physician of BNP chairperson said Khaleda Zia is unable to move and she needs follow-up treatment.

On 25 March 2020, the government freed Khaleda Zia for six months on an executive order.

While speaking to newsmen on Eid day, Fakhrul said he hopes that Khaleda Zia will get opportunity to go abroad for treatment.

A physician of Khaleda Zia said she has pain in her arms and legs and cannot move without assistance.
