Man suffering from fever, cough dies in Sherpur; 16 houses locked down

Local administration on Thursday brought 16 houses under lockdown after the death of a man from fever and cough in Sadar upazila’s Moddhyopara village.

The 42-year old man used to sell pigeon in the area.

Quoting family members, Sadar upazila nirbahi officer Md Firoze Al Mamun said the man had been suffering from fever for the last two to three days and his condition deteriorated on Wednesday night.

He died at 6:00am on Thursday while the health officials collected samples from his body, he added.

Local administration put 16 houses under lockdown after the death, the UNO said.

Civil surgeon AKM Anwarul Rouf, said none of 30 samples found positive for coronavirus until Wednesday in the district.

Twelve more samples were sent for test on Thursday, he said adding that two women still at hospital isolation are doing well.
