2 Lakshmipur minors not die of coronavirus: Civil surgeon

Two children who died with fever and cold in Kamalnagar upazila of Lakshmipur on Friday and Saturday were not found to be infected with coronavirus, said civil surgeon Abdul Gaffar.

Habib, a resident of Torabganj, and Imon, a resident of Char Martin in the upazila died with fever and cold at their respective homes.

Samples of the two were sent to the Bangladesh Institute of Tropical and Infectious Disease (BITID) in Chattogram where they were found negative for coronavirus.

The houses of both the children were released from lockdown on Wednesday.

According to the district civil surgeon office, four houses in Ramgati and Ramganj upazilas are under lockdown and 2,066 people are placed on home-quarantine in the district.
