4 die with cold, fever, respiratory problems in Khulna, Munshiganj

Four people including a child and health worker suffering from cold, fever and respiratory problems died in Munshiganj and Khulna on Tuesday, reports UNB.

The deceased were identified as Bageswar Community Clinic’s healthcare provider Ashraful Islam, 36, from Munshiganj sadar upazila, the 2-year-old toddler in Sreenagar of Munshiganj, Kabir Ahmed, 70, of Mongla in Bagerhat and Md. Ansar, 50 of Magura.

In Munshiganj, Sreenagar upazila health and family planning officer Syed Rezaul Islam said the 2-year-old girl child suffering from cold, fever and respiratory problems died around 12:00pm in Samsabad area.

Her sample was collected for coronavirus test, he said.

In sadar upazila of the district, healthcare provider Ashraful was admitted to Sadar Hospital with cold, fever and breathing complications on Tuesday morning where he died in the afternoon.

Confirming the matter, upazila health officer Sumon Kumar said samples of the deceased has been sent to Dhaka on Monday for coronavirus test.

Two others died at the isolation ward of Khulna Medical College Hospital.

KMCH physician Shailendranath Bishwas said Kabir was suffering from breathing complications for the last five days.

He was admitted to the isolation ward of the hospital around 2:10pm and died after half an hour, he said.

Besides, Ansar who was also suffering from fever and breathing problems was admitted to the hospital on Monday night and died the next morning, Bishwas added.

Samples of the deceased were collected for the novel virus tests.

Meanwhile, the country detected 786 more COVID-19 infected people, the highest number in a single-day on Tuesday, raising the total cases to 10,929 while the death toll climbed to 183 in the country with another person’s death in last 24 hours.
