In spite of a rising trend in the daily number of coronavirus (COVID-19) infections in recent weeks, the recovery rate among infected patients stands at 65.72 per cent in Rangpur division, BSS reports.
Health officials said the number of recovered COVID-19 patients currently stands at 3,646 with the healing of 63 more infected people at the dedicated corona hospitals or isolations at homes on Saturday in the division.
“Meanwhile, 111 new COVID-19 positive cases were reported on Saturday raising their total number to 5,547 in Rangpur division,” focal person of COVID-19 and assistant director (Health) for Rangpur division ZA Siddiqui told BSS on Sunday.
A total of 37,841 collected samples of Rangpur division were tested till Saturday night, and of them, 5,547 were found COVID-19 positive with an infection rate of over 14.65 per cent in the division.
“The COVID-19 infection rate stands at 14.65 per cent against the recovery rate of 65.72 per cent till Sunday morning,” Siddiqui said.
Currently, the district-wise break up of the total 5,547 patients stands at 1,605 in Rangpur, 254 in Panchagarh, 621 in Nilphamari, 328 in Lalmonirhat, 419 in Kurigram, 320 in Thakurgaon, 1,392 in Dinajpur and 608 Gaibandha of the division.
