ACC sues food inspector, wife on graft charges

The Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has filed a lawsuit against a food inspector and his wife on allegation of amassing illegal wealth, reports news agency BSS.

ACC deputy assistant director Nur Alam filed the suit with its Rangpur integrated district office on Wednesday, said a press release of the anti-graft body today.

According to the case statement, food inspector and in-charge of Nageshwari LSD, Kurigram, Noor Mohammad Ali accumulated wealth worth over Tk 9.2 million through illegal means or bribe.

Ali transferred the wealth to his wife Sajeda Begum’s account to conceal the money he amassed illegally.

The case was filed under the Anti-Corruption Commission Act-2004, and the Money Laundering Act-2012.
