Bandarban civil surgeon tests positive for COVID-19

Civil surgeon of Bandarban Aung Sui Marma has tested positive for COVID-19, reports news agency UNB.

Pratyush Pal, the head of Bandarban corona isolation centre, said they received the test report of the civil surgeon on Tuesday night and found him coronavirus positive.

He has been suffering from fever and cold-related problems for the last few days and, he is now in isolation, said Pratyush.

So far, 420 people have been found infected with the highly contagious virus in the district and two of them died from coronavirus while 107 made full recovery.

Earlier, deputy commissioner of Bandarban district Mohammad Daudul Islam tested positive for coronavirus on 12 June.
