Case filed over public humiliation of Barishal teacher

A case was filed Tuesday over the assaulting of a teacher in Barishal.

The teacher was forced by some youths including a student of his institution to squat while holding his ears, reports UNB.

The incident taking place on 26 Augus came to the fore a few days ago when a video clip of the incident went viral on social media.

The victim Mijazur Rahman Shajal, former teacher of Zam Zam Institute of Health Technology, filed the case under the Digital Security Act accusing Imon and Monira along with 7-8 more unidentified persons, UNB quoted Nurul Islam, officer-in-charge of Barishal kotwali model police station, as saying.

In the clip making the rounds on the internet, Imtiaj Imon, a student of the institute, and some other youths were seen to humiliate the teacher on Oxford Mission Road of the city.

They also made him promise not to stalk Monira, a student of the institute and wife of Imon.

One of them recorded the incident on his mobile phone and circulated the clip on social media platforms.
