COVID-19 cases in Khulna division reach 9,753

With detection of 269 more positive cases in the last 24 hours till Wednesday noon, the total number of COVID-19 infected patients in the division reached 9,753, said a COVID-19 quarantine and isolation related daily report.

“We received 282 samples at Khulna Medical College (KMC) and other samples in Jashore and Kushtia laboratories in the last 24 hours till Wednesday noon and 269 of those were found COVID-19 positive,” assistant director (Health) of Khulna division Ferdousi Akhter told BSS.

The health officials said the newly detected 269 COVID-19 patients are 63 in Khulna, 42 in Bagerhat, 41 in Jashore, 34 in Kushtia, 29 in Satkhira, 28 in Narail, 18 in Jhenaidah, 12 in Magura and two in Meherpur districts in the division.


“Among the total 9,753 COVID-19 patients, 3,800 are in Khulna, 1,467 in Jashore, 1,270 in Kushtia, 682 in Jhenaidah, 576 in Satkhira, 552 in Narail, 475 in Bagerhat, 446 in Chuadanga, 346 in Magura and 139 in Meherpur districts” she said.

The number of recovered COVID-19 continues increasing along with rise in the number of infected patients in recent weeks in the division, he said.

“With the healing of 217 more infected patients, the total number of recovered COVID-19 patients rose to 4,950 with the recovery rate of 50.75 percent in the division till today’s noon,” she added.

“Among the total 9,753 coronavirus infected persons, 1,035 are undergoing treatment at isolation units of different hospitals as 4,950 have recovered and 173 died while the rest are undergoing treatment in isolation at their respective homes in the division”, Ferdousi Akhter said.
