Five shot in Madaripur during AL factional clash

At least five people sustained gunshot wounds in a factional clash between two groups of ruling Awami League over establishing supremacy at East Ransti area of Madaripur sadar upazila on Sunday, reports UNB.

The injured are -- Razzak Sardar, 32, Mamun Sardar, 35, Polash Bepari, 35, Saddam Sardar, 32, and Firoj Sahi, 42.

They were admitted to the Sadar Hospital.

Additional police superintendent Badrul Alam Molla said the supporters of local Jubo League leader Billal Molla and Awami League leader Razu Hawladar clashed in the afternoon over previous enmity.

The clash left 10 people injured with five sustaining bullet injuries, he said.

Additional police have been deployed in the area to avoid any unwanted situation, the ASP said.
