Islamic University student diagnosed with coronavirus

A student of Kushtia Islamic University has been diagnosed with coronavirus in Jashore’s Bagharpara upazila, reports UNB.

The infected patient is the resident of Paschima village in Narikelbaria union of the upazila.

Physician Shariful Islam, upazila health and family planning officer, said that following coronavirus symptoms, his sample was sent to Jashore Science and Technology University for testing.

His sample was reported to have tested positive on Sunday, Shariful said, adding that it was the first coronavirus case in the upazila.

Later, upazila nirbahi officer Tania Afroz put three houses under lockdown in the village.

The infected university student had been staying home for the last month, said the UNO, adding that he might have been infected from the community.
