People asked to avoid Dhaka-Sylhet highway as the route to remain shut for 4 days

Plying of all vehicles on Sherpur and Kagajpur bridges on Dhaka-Sylhet highway will remain suspended between 3 July and 7 July due to repair works.

Ritesh Barua, executive engineer of roads and highways department, Sylhet, said the deck slabs of Sherpur bridge and Kagajpur bridge will be repaired from 6:00am on 3 July till 6:00am on 7 July.

All Dhaka-bound vehicles from Sylhet and Sylhet-bound vehicles from Dhaka have been asked to use Sherpur-Moulvibazar-Rajnagar-Fenchuganj-Sylhet road as alternative route during this period, he said.
