Novel coronavirus infected physician professor Abdul Kader was airlifted to Dhaka from Khulna by an air ambulance on Thursday evening, reports UNB.
“Dr Kader, senior consultant, orthopedic department, Shaheed Sheikh Abu Naser Specialised Hospital, was airlifted from Khulna at 6:10pm and admitted to Evercare Hospital in the capital,” said Khulna deputy commissioner Mohammad Hossain.
Khulna DC also said “Coronavirus prevention committee recommended me for sending Dr Kader to Dhaka for better treatment.”
“The decision was taken to airlift him to Dhaka as it was consulted with the high officials at Prime Minister’s office,” Mohammad Hossain added.
Kader was attached with the hospital dedicated to treat coronavirus patients at Boyra in Khulna.
Earlier on 23 April, the deputy commissioner took an initiative to airlift physician Masud Hasan from Khulna to Dhaka, who later returned after recovery.
Bangladesh has so far reported 102,292 coronavirus cases and 1,343 deaths.
