Schoolboy tied to tree, tortured

A seventh grader was tortured after being tied to a tree over a trifling matter at Aralia village of Gazaria upazila in Munshiganj, reports UNB.

The offenders even recorded the whole episode on mobile phone.

The victim, a student of a local school, said the incident took place on Wednesday when he went to a shop near his home. He protested when he saw some teens misbehaving with the shopkeepers.

At one stage of altercation, the teens tied him to a nearby tree and tortured him. They also undressed the boy and recorded it on phone.

Ahsan Ullah, father of the victim, said his son is now going through severe mental stress as the torturers threatened to circulate the clip on social media.

“They belong to influential families of the locality,” he added.

Md Saiful Islam, sub-inspector at Gazaria police station, said they visited the spot on Saturday. “We’ve asked the father to lodge a complaint,” he added.
