“On a tip off, an operational team of RAB-13 from its Rangpur headquarters conducted a sudden raid in the Bazar and arrested the rapists,” a press release issued by media officer of RAB-13 and senior ASP Siddique Ahmad today.

The elite force conducted the raid and arrested them after the victim and her father filed a complaint.

The arrestees are Shree Sajib Babu alias Sakib, 26, son of Nani Gopal of village Khamar Tyebpur and Md. Shipan Miah, 22, son of late Moazzem Hossain of nearby Durgapur village in Mithapukur upazila of Rangpur district.

“During interrogation, the arrested youths admitted that they raped the teenage girl on 12 June after she repeatedly refused an illicit proposal from Sajib,” the release added.
