Cold wave pushes temperature below 6 degrees

The 'mild to moderate' cold wave may continue, bringing chill in the air at different parts of the country, say weathermen.

According to the Met office forecast, 'moderate to thick' fog is likely to occur at places over the country during mid night till Sunday morning.

The cold wave is sweeping over Khulna, Rangpur and Rajshahi divisions and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalganj and Srimangal. "It may continue," read the forecast.

The country’s lowest temperature of the season was recorded at 5.8 degree Celsius in Chuadanga, Rajshahi on Saturday.

Night temperature may fall slightly and day temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country in the next 24 hours or so.

Temperature in 24 hours till the morning was recorded at 9.2 degrees in Tangail and Faridpur, 9.4 in Srimangal,  13 degrees in Dhaka, 12 in Myemensingh and 13 degrees in Dhaka.

The Met office also said weather may remain dry with temporary partly cloudy sky over the country during the said period.
