Gold price crosses Tk 50,000

The gold prices in the local market have shot up again by Tk 1,400 per bhari (11.664 grams).

After the latest hike, the price of one bhari of 22-carat gold will stand at Tk 50,738, while 21-carat gold price at Tk 48,406, 18-carat gold at Tk 43,157 and traditional gold at Tk 26,536 per bhari.

The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association announced the new prices in a press release on Tuesday.

The new prices will come into effect from tomorrow, Wednesday.

Earlier on 25 December last, gold prices were hiked by Tk 1,400 a bhari.

However, the price of silver remains the same at Tk 1,050 per bhari.
