Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) on Friday found three bodies in a suspected militant hideout, Rubi Villa, located in Nakhalpara area in the capital.

The bodies were recovered after the RAB had conducted a raid in the building which is approximately 100 yards away from the prime minister's office, said RAB officials.

Nuruzzaman Montu, a resident near the building, said he heard of gunshots. At one stage the law enforcers announced something through a mike.

The elite force officials said they began the operation at the building, suspected as a ‘militant hideout’, around 2:00am.

Militants were allegedly throwing grenades at the members of RAB during the raid, the officials claimed.

RAB’s media wing said the suspected militants were staying on the 4th floor of a 5th-storey building there.

Director of the RAB’s media wing Mufti Mahmud Khan confirmed the deaths of three people at the suspected militant den.”

Earlier, Mufti said, “As grenades were thrown, entering into the building is not safe at this moment.

When asked whether there is any mastermind inside the house, Mufti said, “We don’t have such information right now.”
