Pabna Medical College was declared closed for an indefinite period following a clash between two factions of Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) on Friday, reports UNB.

Two factions of the ruling Awami League's student body -- one led by Pabna Medical College unit BCL president Mahfuzur Rahman Nayan and another by its general secretary Oditiya -- had been at loggerheads over establishing supremacy on the campus.

As a sequel to the enmity, followers of the both groups engaged in a clash in the morning, leaving at least 10 of both groups injured.

The college authorities shut down the campus for an indefinite period, said its principal Riazul Islam Reza.

All the students were asked to leave their respective dormitories within 2 pm.
