Minimum age for FF recognition now 12 ½

The government has set 12 years and 6 months as the minimum age to get recognition as freedom fighters for those who took part in the Liberation War in 1971.

The liberation war affairs ministry issued a circular in this regard on Wednesday afternoon, reports UNB.

According to the circular, the minimum age for one to be recognised as a freedom fighter must be 12 years and six months till the date of 30 November 1971.

Earlier on 19 June 2017, the ministry had issued a circular declaring 13 years as the minimum age to get the recognition as a freedom fighter.
