Gold price crosses Tk 52000

Just after two weeks of revising, the prices of gold in the local market have shot up again by Tk 1,517 per bhari (11.664 grams).

After the latest hike, the price of one bhari of 22-carat gold stands at Tk 52,255, while 21-carat gold price at Tk 49,992, 18-carat gold at Tk 44,643 and traditional gold at Tk 27,410 per bhari.

The Bangladesh Jewellers’ Association announced the new prices in a press release on Thursday.

The new prices will come into effect from tomorrow, Friday.

Earlier on 10 January, gold prices were hiked by Tk 1,400 a bhari.

However, the price of silver remains the same at Tk 1,050 per bhari.
