78,000 candidates for 9 posts!

A total of 78,082 job-seekers will vie for nine vacant posts of sub-inspectors at the Department of Narcotics Control.

The gross salary of SI post is around Tk 26,000.

DNC officials said they were surprised to see so many applications for only nine empty posts of the department.

On 12 December 2017, the narcotics control department published a circular to fill up some 242 vacant posts including nine sub-inspectors. A total of 217,000 job seekers have applied for those empty posts.

A DNC official said it is quite impossible to shortlist the candidates for them for the recruitment test.

Deputy director of DNC (admin) Md Mamun told Prothom Alo that the entire process of submitting applications was carried out online.

The last date of submitting applications was on 31 January 2018.
