Gold prices to dip

The Bangladesh Jewellers Samity (BJS) has decided to reduce up to Tk 1283 in each bhari of gold as the price has gone down in the global market.

The new price will be implemented from Monday, confirmed a press release signed by BJS general secretary Dilip Kumar Agarwala on Sunday.

According to the new price, each bhari (11.664 grams) of 22-carat gold will cost Tk 50,972; 21-carat Tk 48,697 and 18-carat Tk 43,623. Besides, each traditional bhari of gold will be sold at Tk 26,419.

Till today (Sunday), each bhari of 22-carat gold cost Tk 52,255; 21-carat Tk 49,922 and 18-carat Tk 44,673 while traditional bhari cost Tk 27,410.

The price of silver, however, will remain unchanged at Tk 1,050 per bhari.
