5 Khulna mayoral aspirants’ nomination accepted

The election commission (EC) on Sunday accepted nomination papers of five candidates for the mayoral post of Khulna City Corporation polls scheduled for 15 May, reports UNB.

The candidates are--Talukder Abdul Khalek of Awami League, Nazrul Islam Manju of BNP, Shafiqul Islam of Jatiya Party, Mawlana Mozammel of Islami Andolan and Mizanur Rahman of Communist Party Bangladesh (CPB).

Earlier on 12 April, the candidates submitted nomination papers.

Elections to Gazipur and Khulna city corporations will be held on 15 May.
