2 boys drown in river

Two children have drowned in the Pagla River at Narayanpur in Shibganj upazila in Chapainawabganj, reports UNB.

The deceased are Shawon, 10, son of Anarul Islam of Tauarpara village, and Tareque, 13, son of Kalam Ali of Satrashia village in the upazila.

Shibganj police station sub-inspector Ripon Kumar said the two children went missing while taking bath in the river on Monday afternoon.

On information, a firefighting unit rushed and recovered the body of Shawon from Bahlabari around 11:00pm on Monday.

Divers from Rajshahi retrieved Tareque's body from the river around 9:00am on Tuesday.
