Bangladesh has welcomed the historic summit between US president Donald Trump and North Korean leader Kim Jong-un which has generated ‘momentum’ to overcome long-drawn tensions, reports UNB.

The joint statement of the summit reflected strong commitments of the two leaders to restore peace, stability and security on Korean peninsula, said the foreign affairs ministry in Dhaka on Thursday.

It hoped that all concerned parties will support this peace initiative and facilitate implementation of the outcome of the Summit for the benefit of the region and beyond.

Bangladesh said it will continue to work with the international community to resolve all differences and disputes peacefully through dialogue.
