The top official of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) on Thursday said that there is no threat of militant attack during the Eid-ul-Fitr holidays.
DMP commissioner Asaduzzaman Mia made the assurance of peaceful situation while talking to newsmen after inspecting the Jatiya Eidgah where the main Eid congregation would be held.
He mentioned that the law enforcement agencies are keeping close watch on the suspected militants who are freed on bail.
Keeping in mind the militant attack on the Sholakia Eid congregation in Kishoreganj in 2016, tight security measures have been taken, Asaduzzaman said.
