BNP’s student wing Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) president Rajib Ahsan was rearrested at the gate of Keraniganj Central Jail soon after he was freed on bail on Thursday.

"Plainclothes police rearrested Rajib Ahsan as he came out of the jail on bail granted by the apex court," Bangladesh Nationalist Party's senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi told UNB on Thursday night.

He said the government arrested Rajib again as part of its deep-rooted conspiracy. "We strongly condemn the government's move."

The BNP leader demanded the government immediately release him from jail.

On 8 February, police arrested Rajib from in front of BNP's Naya Paltan central office. He recently secured bail from the High Court in 28 cases filed against him.

In a statement, JCD acting president Mamunur Rashid and general secretary Akramul Hasan strongly condemned and protested at the arrest of Rajib from the jail gate again.
