NSTU student drowns in university pond

A student of Noakhali Science and Technology University (NSTU) drowned in a pond on the university campus on Monday afternoon.

Deceased Samsuddin Srijon, 20, was a first year student of Statistics department and son of Imam Uddin Sabuj of Sundarpur village in Feni Sadar upazila, said NSTU proctor Musfiqur Rahman.

Samsuddin along with some of his friends went to take bath in the pond around 2:30pm. At one stage, he went missing.

On information, a fire fighting team rushed in and found him after four hours, reports UNB.

Later, he was taken to Noakhali General Hospital where the duty doctor declared him dead, the proctor added.
