A minor girl died reportedly due to wrong treatment at a private hospital in Chattogram city early Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased was Raifa Khan, 3, daughter of Rubel Khan, staff reporter of Bangla Daily Samakal.

On Thursday afternoon, the child was admitted to Max Hospital with severe cold-related problem, said the victim's father.

Physicians gave her antibiotics instantly, but later in the night her physical condition started to deteriorate, said her father.

Later, the on-duty physician advised them to call child specialist Bidhan Barua who later also recommended the same drug which led the poor girl to shuffle, he said.

As the victim started shivering, the on-duty doctor injected another drug and Rafia died, the victim's father alleged.

On the face of journalists' movement, police arrested three people including the on-duty doctor and a nurse. However, they were released later in the night.

Meanwhile, a five-member probe committee headed by Chattogram Civil Surgeon was formed to investigate the incident, said Abul Kalam, officer-in-charge of Chawkbazar police station.

Legal steps will be taken based on the investigation report, he said.
