Missing college student found dead

A college student who went missing on August 13 was found dead in a water body in Chitalmari upazila on Sunday.

The deceased was Sabuj Biswas, 17, son of Paritosh Biswas of Katakhali village in the upazila.

Anakul Chandra Sarkar, officer-in-charge of Chitalmari police station, said Sabuj went out of his house on 13 August and since then, he remained missing.

A general diary was lodged with Chitalmari police station in this connection.

After tracking the mobile phone of Sabuj, police arrested his two friends -- Limon Khan, 17, son of Hasmat Ali Khan, and Sabbir Khan, 17, son of Abdus Sala -- from Gopalganj district on Sunday.

Following information provided by the duo, police recovered the body of the college boy with his hands and legs tied from the water body at noon, said Shahadat Hossain, additional superintendent of police (Sadar circle).

Limon and Sabbit killed Sabuj following a previous enmity, claimed the OC.

During the interrogation, the arrestees confessed that they took Sabuj to an abandoned house and hit him with a hammer. Later, they tied his hands and legs and wrapped him with a blanket and dumped the body in the water body, he claimed.
