Girl drowns in Sylhet

A minor girl drowned in a pond in Isabpur village of Bishwanath upazila on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased is Nilufa Begum, 3, daughter of Alamgir Hossain of the village.

Locals said neighbours spotted the floating body around 2:30pm.

Later, they rescued the body and took it to the house of a local doctor who declared her dead, they added.

A case of unnatural death was filed with Bishwanath police station, said sub-inspector Mizanur Rahman of the police station.
