More than 100 Bangladesh nationals were arrested in the past three weeks for ‘illegally’ crossing the border from Mexico into America’s Texas state, according to Breitbart.

In all, a report said, a total of 622 Bangladeshis were apprehended this fiscal year.

The media report called them Bangladeshis, based on their interviews with the border patrol agents.

On 7 September, five such Bangladeshis consisting of two juveniles and three adults were detained

The latest arrests bring the total for the fiscal year 2018 to 622, the media report said.

A few weeks ago, Breitbart Texas reported <https://www.breitbart.com/texas/2018/08/27/bangladeshi-border-apprehensions-in-texas-tripled-over-2017/> on the number of arrests at 520 after agents arrested more than 20 Bangladeshi nationals over a short period of days.

Since that time, more than 100 Bangladeshis were arrested in the Laredo Sector alone, the report added.
According to the report, the 622 Bangladeshis arrested in the Laredo Sector this fiscal year compares to the previous annual total of 181, showing an increase of nearly 244 per cent.

The Bangladeshis, mostly young men between the ages of 18 and 35, reportedly pay up to $27,000 each to be smuggled into the US.

Laredo Sector acting chief patrol agent Jason D Owens previously told Breitbart Texas his sector has more than 170 miles of unprotected river border without fencing or walls.
