Model ‘held with yaba’ at Cox’s Bazar airport

Police on Wednesday afternoon detained a female model from Cox’s Bazar Airport on allegation of carrying 200 pieces of contraband yaba pills.

The detainee is Shapna Akhter Kanta, 24, Rem show model star and short film producer and daughter of a certain Mahmud Hasan of Nayapara in Narayanganj district, reports UNB.

Narcotic control department inspector Abdul Malek said being informed from the airport authority, police detained private aircraft passenger Kanta from there along with the pills.

She confessed to police that she was carrying yaba pills in her bag, the inspector said.

Kanta, a student of Mohammadpur Girls College in the capital, told news agency UNB that her boyfriend Sujon gave her the pills.
