Over 200 fishermen missing in Bay

More than 200 fishermen have remained missing after at least 15 fishing trawlers reportedly capsized in the Bay of Bengal due to rough weather and high tide in last 24 hours till Friday afternoon.

Golam Mostafa, president of Barguna Fishing Trawler Owners'  Association, said several fishing trawlers including FB Mayer Dowa, FB Tajenur, FB Mim-2 and FB Arman Ali sank in the Bay.

Deputy commissioner Mokhlesur Rahman said members of Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh Coast Guard were conducting drives to rescue the missing fishermen as well as to salvage the trawlers.
