Two teenage girls have reportedly been gangraped by eight people at station road in Chattogram city, reports UNB.

Police said the girls went to a business establishment in the area on Sunday in search of job. However, a group of people confined them to a room on a theft charge.

Around 8:00pm, they were taken to the rooftop of Jalsa Market in the name of interrogation where eight people violated them by turns.

On information, a team of police went to the spot around 10:00pm and rescued the victims, said officer-in-charge of Kotwali police station Mohammad Mohsin.

The victims were later taken to the one-stop crisis centre of Chittagong Medical College Hospital, he added.

Police also arrested six alleged rapists from the spot, the OC said, adding that the rest managed to flee. “We’re trying to arrest the rest.”
