Liaison body next week to intensify nat’l unity process: B Chy

Jukta Front convener AQM Badruddoza Chowdhury on Tuesday said they will form a liaison committee after Saturday to intensify the national unity process, reports UNB.
He came up with the announcement after a meeting of the leaders of Jukta Front and Jatiya Oikya Prokriya at his Baridhara residence.

BNP vice-chairman Iqbal Hasan Mahmud Tuku was present at the meeting as an observer on behalf of party secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir.

"We've decided at the meeting to form a liaison committee as per BNP's proposal. We'll make the committee after 29 September as the party will announce its policy about the national unity through its public rally on Saturday," said B Chowdhury.

He also hoped that their unity will be forged based on politics of balance.

The Jukta Front president also said all the democratic forces except those were against the Liberation War will be included in the national unity process.

The meeting began around 6pm and ended around 8pm.

B Chowdhury, also a former president, said they discussed the country's overall situation and the Prime Minister's remarks about the leaders involved in the national unity process.

Jatyia Samjtantrik Dal (JSD) president Abdur Rab, its leader Abdul Malek Ratan, Nagorik Oikya convener Mahmudur Rahman Manna, Gano Forum leader AOM Shafiqullah, Jaglul Haider and Gonoshasthaya Kendra founder Zafrullah Chowdhury were, among others, present at the meeting.
