2 get life-terms for killing driver

A Natore court on Sunday sentenced two people to life terms in prison for killing the driver of a human hauler and snatching his vehicle at Barpakia village in Puthia, Rajshahi in 2014, reports UNB.

Judge Rezaul Karim of district and sessions judges court of Natore handed down the verdict.

According to the prosecution, the convicts--Saiful and Babu--hired the driver Abul Kalam Mridha's vehicle promising to go to Natore town from Bashudebpur Bazar in Naldanga upazila of the district on 27 April 2014.

Later, the convicts killed Kalam and fled with the vehicle throwing the body into roadside maize filed.

The court passed the judgement as the convicts confessed the killing, said public prosecutor of the case Sirajul Islam.
