2 bodies recovered after RAB operation

The bodies of two persons were recovered in Mirsarai upazila's Zorarganj of Chattogram on Friday following a Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) operation there, reports UNB.

According to the law enforcement, the deceased were members of banned militant outfit Jama’atul Mujahideen Bangladesh (JMB).

The members of the elite force recovered the bodies around 11:30am from a house named ‘Chowdhury Mansion’, said Shafayat Jamil Fahim, commanding officer of Feni RAB-7 camp.

A team of RAB earlier conducted a drive in the area around 3:00am and cordoned off the house.

At one stage, Shafayat said, the suspected militants opened fire and threw bombs at the members of the elite force, prompting them to retaliate.

A bomb disposal unit from Dhaka reached the spot in the morning.

A man, identified himself as a worker of BSRM, rented out the house on 28 September, said Shafayat.

According to the RAB, one AK-22 riffle, three pistols, five unexploded grenades were recovered from the house.
