Police cordon off 2 ‘militant hideouts’

Police cordoned off two houses at Madhabdi and Sheikher Char in Narsingdi since Monday evening suspecting them militant hideouts.

Law enforcers locked both the houses with at least five people inside, according to police.

Two units of the Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) including the CTTCU (Counter-terrorism and Transnational Crime Unit) have been preparing for conducting operations in the houses that were identified as militant dens by long-run investigations, said Abdul Mannan, DMP CTTCU additional deputy commissioner.

The law enforcers have been preparing for a drive since last night and nothing more can be elaborated on the issue now, added Mannan.
