DMP seizes 68 bikes for traffic rules violation in single day

The Traffic Division of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) in its drive against traffic rules violation filed some 3,772 cases against different modes of vehicles in the city on Tuesday.

Of the cases, 334 were filed for driving vehicles on wrong sides, 65 for using hydraulic horns, seven for using hooter and beckon light and 16 others for using tinted glass in microbuses.

Some 1,223 cases were filed against motorcycles and 68 bikes were seized for violation of the traffic rules during the period.

Traffic policemen also dumped 35 vehicles and impounded 894 others using tow trucks during the daylong drive that started at 6am.

They realised over Tk 30.79 lakh in fine for traffic rules violation, said DMP Deputy Commissioner (Media) Masudur Rahman on Wednesday.
