Mild quake jolts Northeastern Bangladesh

An earthquake of 5.4-magnitude on the Richter scale shook Northeastern parts of the country including Sylhet on Saturday night, reports UNB.

The epicentre of the moderate quake was India-Myanmar border region, 318-km East of the seismic centre at Bangladesh Metrological Department in the capital's Agargaon area, said a met office bulletin issued on Sunday.

The tremor was felt at 11:15pm Bangladesh time, it added.

No loss of lives or property has been reported due to the earthquake so far.
