Gazipur road crash kills 5

Five people were killed and six others injured following a collision between a bus and a human hauler in Haldoba area of Sadar upazila in Gazipur on Monday morning, reports UNB.

Four of the deceased have been identified as ex-army officer Mizanur Rahman, hailing from Lakhsmipur village in Gozaria upazila of Munshiganj district, Md Nazim Uddin, 60, Abdus Samad, 65, hailing from Sirajganj district and Ratul.

Saiful Islam, officer-in-charge of Joydebpur police station, said that the accident took place when the bus collided with the human hauler (locally known as Leguna), leaving two passengers of Leguna dead on the spot and nine others injured.

Among the injured, three died at Gazipur Shaheed Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.

Two of the injured were sent to Dhaka Medical College and Hospital and four are undergoing treatment at Tajuddin Ahmed Medical College Hospital.
