Detained city Bangladesh Nationalist Party president Shahadat Hossain has been shown arrested in three more violence cases, reports UNB.
Additional chief judicial magistrate MM Mohiuddin Murad passed the order on Thursday following appeals by police, said Shahadat’s lawyer Quamrul Islam Sajjad.
He said they filed petitions seeking bail for the BNP leader in the cases filed with Bakalia police station in October and November, but the court rejected the bail appeals and showed him arrested in the cases.
Meanwhile, city BNP assistant office secretary Idris Ali alleged that the jail authorities have not yet complied with the High Court order to give Shahadat division in jail.
Detectives arrested the BNP leader from the old part of the capital on 7 November when he went to the Dhaka Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court to consult a lawyer.
