Cricket match costs boy's life

A teenage boy was stabbed to death allegedly by his friends cantering a cricket match in Pabna on Friday, reports UNB.

The deceased was Hamim Hossain, 15, son of Tofazzal Hossain of the village.

Goutam Kumar Ghosh, additional superintendent of Pabna police, said some boys were going to play cricket without taking the victim for playing with them.

Later, they locked in an altercation over the issue.

At one stage, one of the boys, Anik, brought a knife from his house and swooped on Hamim, leaving him critically injured. Another boy Wahzed also received injury when he tried to save Hamim.

Both, however, were taken to Pabna General Hospital where the physicans declared Hamim dead, the officer added.
