Dulu files writ to legalise nomination

Organising secretary of BNP central committee M Ruhul Kuddus Talukar Dulu on Sunday filed a writ petition challenging the rejection of his nomination.

His lawyer Syed Al Ashrafur Ali filed the writ. He said the writ may be heard anytime today (Sunday).

The election commission rejected his appeal seeking validity of his nomination cancelled by the returning officer for Natore-2 constituency on December 2.

The returning officer cancelled his nomination citing reasons of his conviction in a criminal case.

Dulu's lawyer said his client's conviction which was considered for rejecting his nomination had been stayed.
