A college student was hacked to death by miscreants in broad daylight in front of Shah Sultan College gate in Bogura on Sunday, reports UNB.

The deceased was Rakibul Hasan Hridoy, 19, second year student of Shah Sultan College and son of Mosharraf Hossain of Thantania in Bogura.

Sub-inspector Haridas Mondol of Shajahanpur police station said Hridoy came out of his college after completing his pre-test examination when some youths asked him to bring cigarettes for them to which he did not agree.

For this reason, they attacked him with sharp knife, leaving him critically injured around 11:00am.
Locals took him to Shaheed Ziaur Rahman Medical College Hospital from where he was referred to Dhaka for better treatment but he died on the way on Sunday night, the SI added.
Additional superintendent of police Sanatan Chakrabarty said a case was filed in this connection and police started a drive to arrest the miscreants involved in the killing.
