The High Court on Wednesday granted a six-month bail to BNP international affairs secretary and former state minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milan in 13 cases filed over extortion and violence, reports UNB.

An HC bench of justice AKM Asaduzzaman and justice SM Mojibur Rahman passed the order after hearing bail petitions.

However, Milan cannot be released from jail as the bench rejected his bail prayer in a killing case, said deputy attorney general Md Bashir Ullah.

Detectives in a drive arrested Milan from a house at Chawkbazar in Chattogram on 23 November.

A Chandpur court sent him to jail the same day.
