Ruling Bangladesh Awami League joint general secretary Jahangir Kabir Nanak on Friday alleged that the BNP and Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami are plotting to foil the Sunday's national elections unleashing violence, attacks and vandalism sensing its imminent defeat.

He came up with the allegation while speaking at a media conference at AL president Sheikh Hasina's office in Dhanmondi area, reports UNB.

"You’ve seen that Mirza Fakhrul directed to unleash violence on the election day through a video message. Alongside, Tarique Rahman, who is convicted for corruption, is also instigating the BNP activists and leaders to do the same," he said.

The party is also trying to destroy the congenial atmosphere and festive mood prevailing across the country centring the 11th national elections, he added.

The AL joint general secretary further claimed that Pakistani intelligence agency ISI is also trying to unleash huge violence and anarchy by spreading rumours using social media.

"The party is spreading rumours in the social media to mislead people as part of their blueprints," Nanak added.

The senior AL leader also claimed that six of its activists were killed by the BNP men during the election campaign across the country.

"The BNP men attacked and injured 445 of our men and vandalised 174 of our election camps," he added.

Nanak urged policemen to arrest those who carried out attacks on AL men and injured their activists as well as vandalised their election campaign offices.
